A pleasant and tranquil village of the middle mountains, situated at a height of 760 m. and surrounded by dense woods. Its historical centre, and the small villages around it, are its main attractions.
The principal visitor attractions are the church of Sant'Antonio, situated in the centre of the village on the bank of the River Lys, and reachable from a medieval bridge, from which you have a great view of the Lys torrent.
The village comprises not only the town centre, but also numerous picturesque hamlets, placed in panoramic settings where you can enjoy great views of the surrounding mountains at the bottom of the valley.
In 1993, the first Regional Nature Reserve was created in Mont Mars. The area is very rich in rivers, lakes and wetlands, and covered with woods threaded with numerous paths, ideal for visitors to observe the flora and fauna.
In the village itself you will find the Visitors Centre of Mont Mars Nature Reserve.
In the village, characteristic and hospitable accommodation offers visitors a pleasant stay, where they can enjoy the shops selling local products.
The sporting activities available in the village and its surrounding territories are : in winter, sci alpinismo, cross-country skiing and snow-shoes trips; and in the milder seasons: walking and trekking, cycling, canyoning and sport fishing.
